Modeling Sustainable Cities Workshop

On Tuesday 3 December 2019, Prof. Christoph Reinhart—MIT Portugal’s Sustainable Cities Lead Faculty Member—hosted a Modeling Sustainable Cities workshop at MIT.

In attendance were four Portuguese researchers: Carlos Silva (IST), Francisco Costa (IST),  Rui Lopes (FCT NOVA), Naim Majdalani (FCT NOVA), and Dr. Daniel Aelenei (FCT NOVA) who presented their urban modeling project FIRST. 


Additionally, Prof. Reinhart gave a demonstration about a Multi-dimensional Urban Modeling and UMI tool; Prof. Jessika Trancik presented her lab’s Greenhouse gas equivalency metrics tool demo; and Dr. Audun Botterud exhibited his team’s Renewable Energy Grid integration model.
