The Luso-American Development Foundation (FLAD) in partnership with the National Library of Portugal (BNP) and with the Portuguese General Directorate of the Book, Archives and Libraries – National Archive of Torre do Tombo (DGLAB-ANTT) announces a program for short-term research grants with one open call per institution.

|Please note: these opportunities do not have an institutional limit.|

Whilst aiming at stimulating the knowledge of Portuguese history, language, and culture conducted by researchers in the U.S., with the goal of increasing cultural cooperation between the two countries, FLAD alongside these two renowned Portuguese institutions offers two open calls intended for researchers affiliated with U.S. universities or research centers.

The program aims to provide a fruitful stay in Portugal to study the valuable archives and documentary collections located at Torre do Tombo (DGLAB-ANTT) and at the National Library of Portugal (BNP).

The fellowships awarded will be for periods between one and three months. Researchers will be entitled to a roundtrip ticket USA-Portugal, up to 750 euros, as well as a monthly allowance of 1400 euros.

Each call is open until the 15th of April of 2020, and the results will be communicated on the 30th of April of 2020.
