The AI Moonshot is a Global competition that combines AI and Space technologies to find solutions for the detection, location, and monitoring of maritime waste on a planetary scale. You can submit your proposal until October 9 if you have an innovative idea on how to solve the plastic marine litter problem.

This call is open to research groups, individual experts, consortia or partnerships between different people or entities, including companies or start-ups, from different backgrounds and geographies. The team(s) with the best proposal(s) will be awarded up to 500k € to conduct the research for a period of up to 2 years from Portugal, either in close cooperation with Portuguese beneficiary institutions, or by establishing themselves in the country. Proposals will be evaluated on innovation, scientific merit, team expertise, and impact of the project. The teams with the best proposals will be invited to pitch during WebSummit 2020, to take place in December 2-4 2020 where the winning team(s) will also be announced.

The applications to the Moonshot Challenge must follow the Call guidelines and be sent to [email protected].
