AEROS Constellation: Kick-off meeting

On November 19th, AEROS Constellation project was officially launched.

The kick-off remote meeting was hosted by Edisoft, Project’s Coordinator, with the contributions of the participating institutions: Ceiia; Spinworks; DStelecom; Air Centre; IMAR; + Atlantic; University of Minho; University of Porto; University of Algarve; Técnico Lisboa and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
AEROS  is one of the Flagships Projects of MIT Portugal and will develop a new nanosatellite platform as a precursor of a future constellation to leverage the Space/Ocean scientific and economic synergies.

The meeting starts with a brief presentation of the consortium that will involve people from very specific fields with complementary research competencies. Hélder Silva, Head of Space Software and Embedded Systems at Edisoft, made an overview presentation of the project’s activity and then each partner proceeded with a short presentation of each of the work packages with the work to be developed.
In the next weeks the team will meet again to start working on the definition of the technical requirements to drive the design of the Spacecraft Bus and Payload.
