| Thursday, 10 February 2011 | MIT Portugal students are organizing a conference focused in three main areas: education and academia; entrepreneurship; and employment challenges. The E3 Forum wants to be a place for students to present their work in close connection with all social agents that influence and are influenced by their work. This meeting also seeks to enlarge the students' network providing a space for companies, universities, and entrepreneurs to meet students and share their thoughts about what is the role, in a knowledge-based society, for a professional with a PhD. Finally, it is also a core goal of this event to provide the students with information related with career paths - academia and industry -, as well as good examples in the creation of technological-based companies, while elucidating the opportunities in this area in Portugal. By achieving these goals the E3 Forum intends to fill the gap between research and current practice, students and society, academic studies and "real world" problems. These synergies provide an opportunity to increase the comprehension of the world, to analyze the work that is being done in PhD projects, and to collect useful insights and perspectives from those who face challenges and need to solve problems every day. The E3 Forum organized by MPP Students will be held on the 30thof June at the Faculty of Science and Technology of New University of Lisbon.
