MIT Portugal Transportation Systems Workshop held at MIT |

 Prof. Chris Zegras Faculty, researchers and students from the Transportation Systems Focus Area of the MIT Portugal Program met on the Massachusetts Institute of Technology campus September 4-5, 2008 to discuss education and research initiatives for the coming year.
The workshop involved a number of MIT Portugal Program colleagues from Portugal as well as MIT, who discussed such topics as student recruitment, education delivery and research progress.
The event also served to announce the Transportation Systems Focus Area
Teaching Award winners for 2007-08: António P. Antunes of
FCT-University of Coimbra and Jorge Pinho de Sousa of FEUP, University

On Thursday, September 4, the workshop focused on education, with an
introductory session in the morning and bilateral meetings between
relevant partners involved in the different courses.
On Friday, September 5 the event focused on research updates and
progress, with bilateral meetings among project partners and plenary
session to increase understanding across projects in the relevant
domains within Transportation Systems.

Area co-leads Prof. Christopher Zegras of MIT and Prof. Jose Viegas of
Instituto Superior Tecnico.
