The ISCTE-IUL MIT Portugal Competition, launched by ISCTE-IUL in partnership with the MIT Portugal Program, the MIT School of Engineering, Deshpande Center and Sloan Business School, aims to foster the entrepreneurial spirit in Portugal. In order to present the 2011 edition of the ISCTE-IUL MIT Portugal Venture Competition, an information session aimed for the MIT Portugal community, will be held at the Alameda Campus of IST on the 1st of March at 3 pm, Lisbon time. This session will happen at the Videoconference Room of the Centro de Congressos, and will be connected to MIT, University of Porto, University of Coimbra and University of Minho by videoconference. If you have a project at an embryonic (i.e. technologies that have the potential to be protected in terms of IP) or early stage (i.e. NewCo’s or companies incorporated less than 5 years old before the competition closing date) with a strong value proposition that addresses by design global markets, this might be your opportunity. Finalists from other competitions are strongly encouraged to participate. You may also join us in one of the following Roadshow Sessions to learn all about the ISCTE- IUL MIT Portugal Venture Competition. Attendance is free but registration is required. In addition, you may participate in this initiative as a Volunteer Catalyst. The Catalyst program aims to guide the Competition selectees and accelerate the process of commercialization of their technologies for the benefit of public stakeholders. Catalysts provide individual contribution to venture selectees for the award period (up to 9 months) and do not represent any company interests in their role as Catalysts. If you are interested in becoming a Catalyst Volunteer, please read the information available here and apply here.
