Summary: In the last 4 years energy price variations had created instability in all the economic activity. However we can reduce the dependence of the energy from grid for building's through BIPV applications and other simple passive measures to achieve more efficiency in energy consumption in buildings. The focus of this presentation is to study and present several applications of PV integrated in Buildings around Europe. Besides the BIPV application case studies, the overview of the PV European sector is fundamental to understand, the policies, the incentives and the commitment that we see in the present regulation. The industry trends and the type of technologies and applications and even the development of this area will be also discussed. Other topics to develop are the different possible approaches for integration, like roofs, facades, balustrades or even solar shading and their typologies and technological limits, barriers and advantages. About Pedro G. Santos: Pedro is designer and MSc in Engineering Design in IST. He works for 7 years in R&D area in Sapa Group and was responsible to bring to the market several innovative building products. In the last 2 years he have managed the Solar products offer and have been in a multidisciplinary international team to bring to market several integrated products essentially in aluminium and glass with PV integration.
